FASHION  |  By Jared Lowe  |  February 11th, 2010

The amfAR gala event for NY 2010 Fashion Week went down last night, and none other than Lady GaGa stole the spotlight with hundreds of pearls glued to her face.

New York – NY Fashion Week is here Blaynistas. Can you feel the excitement? It was definitely felt last night at the amfAR annual gala held at Cipriani’s in Midtown. Celebs and the fashion industry elite came in droves to support and raise money for HIV/ Aids Research. The night was dedicated to the late actress and advocate Natasha Richardson. And there was plenty of chai tea to spill. Anna Wintour came, GaGa performed and wore hundreds of pearls on her face and body with singer Cyndi Lauper as the new spokespersons for MAC Viva Glam cosmetics, and  actress Zoe Saldana turned heads in a daring ethnic print Louis Vuitton Pre Fall 2010 frock. But the sidebar moment of the evening: actress Meryl Streep singing on stage. Yes, Miranda Priestly SANG in front of Anna Wintour. We would have killed to have had a ticket to this event. Check for more pics after the jump of our fav celebs at the event. [Red Carpet Fashion Awards/ Socialite Life]

LOUIS VUITTON’S NEWEST HANDBAGS

FASHION  |  By Kristina Bustos  |  February 5th, 2010

French label Louis Vuitton designs handbags that resemble trash bags.

LV

World Wide Web – Yes, you read that right Blaynistas. Louis Vuitton has designed handbags that resemble trash bags, even complete with the straps you would pull to tighten your traditional trash bags. But this LV bag is called Raindrop Besace as it’s actually made from raincoat material. In addition, the bag features removable shoulder straps so you can carry it like a trash bag because there’s nothing more chic than carrying it like one while out in the public. The Raindrop Besace retails at $1,960. So Blaynistas, is this LV bag something you would “get glad” about? [Trendhunter, Refinery29]

J’DIE: MORE OVERPRICED TCHOTCHKES FROM LOUIS VUITTON

Uncategorized  |  By Jared Lowe  |  January 8th, 2010

portachiavi-louis-vuitton-animania-468x548Between you and me: did you even know that’s how Tchotchkes were spelled? (I’m wavering between full, mid and mini-gag over how pendulous this word is. But I digress….) Spotted this on Fashion Week Daily’s Chic Report and thought I’d share with you. These beauties are an homage to Louis Vuitton’s founder, Gaston Louis Vuitton’s wife, Renee. Whereby others can’t even get a snapple apple from their significant other, this lady gets post-humous honors. Renee, wherever you are girl, it mportachiavi-louis-vuitton-468x374ust be nice.
