Or rather what would Vogue be without her?
New York - These are the thoughts we are pondering in light of the latest news from WWD. According to the paper Singer, who is currently fashion news and features director at Vogue, is the first (and likely only) serious candidate for the recently vacant spot at T, the New York Times fashion magazine. It’s no surprise that she’s at the top of the shortlist for replacements for Stefano Tonci, the previous editor who is now at W Magazine. In an industry full of talented journalists, Singer is uniquely qualified for the job having spent years shaping rich, layered feature spreads that are as vivid and impactful as Vogue‘s fashion spreads. I’d imagine that T, under Singer, would mimic this quality with richer, more focused, and more relevant, forward looking articles. Is this speculation or a fact? Time will tell, but loving these musical chairs. [WWD]
