A Japanese fashion publication goes 3D — a first in Japan’s history.
Japan – Avatar has nothing on this: Japan Fashion Week has taken 3D from the big screen to the catwalk. With the help of Non-no Magazine – Japan’s premier fashion publication — and satellite broadcaster BS-TBS and consumer electronics firm Panasonic Corp Non-no will showcase the magazine’s Spring Collection in the third dimension for the first time in Japan’s history. The joint venture came on the heels of the 3D invasion set off in America by James Cameron’s universal blockbuster Avatar. “With 3D, you can see how far the pleats of a skirt extend, or the size and weight of a corsage,” boasts Yoshiharu Koshizaki, editor-in-chief of Non-no magazine before reminding us that after all “this IS the year of the 3D.”
