With a must-have book for every fashionistas out there.
World Wide Web – Pierre Cardin is an icon. And it’s only fitting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Pierre Cardin, the label, with a 300-page book titled Pierre Cardin: 60 Years of Innovation, which chronicles the designer’s life and career. The book is written by Jean-Pascal Hesse and published by Assouline. Now for those who don’t know who Cardin is, here’s a quick history lesson: Cardin was born in 1922 in Italy and raised in Paris. In 1950, the designer launched his eponymous couture label. During the ’60s and 70s, he helped define the famous mod style with his pieces worn by even more famous people, such as Jackie Kennedy and The Beatles. Cardin also is called the “godfather of licensing” as he is the first to license his brand and to stick his logo on everything — from housewares to perfumes. Pierre Cardin: 60 Years of Innovation is released on February 15, priced at $120. Pick up your copy at Assouline tome. [Style List]
