WHO LANDED THE COVER OF V MAGAZINE SIZE ISSUE?
More like the two covers of V magazine as both actresses Dakota Fanning and Gabourey Sidibe appear separately on the covers of V’s size issue devoted to plus-size models.
World Wide Web – We bet you didn’t see this one coming, right? 26-year-old Precious star Gabourey Sidibe and 15-year-old star Dakota Fanning were shot in New York City by famed photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the V‘s size issue covers. Not sure what Sidibe wore but Fanning donned a corset over a sweatshirt, both by Alexander Wang. What do you think of the two covers, Blaynistas? Last month “Page Six” reported that V’s first issue of the new decade will be devoted to plus-size models. V editor Stephen Gan said, “Big, little, pint-size, plus-size — every body is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it.” Previews of the issue already have leaked in the internet like the “One Size Fits All” spread with Crystal Renn and Jacquelyn Jablonski shot by Terry Richardson. Both models were shown size by side, wearing the same outfits and modeling similar poses. According to the press release, the spread was to prove that “fashion can flatter any figure.”
Now previews of the spread with a scantily-clad plus-size model shot by Karl Lagerfeld also have leaked. If you recall back in October, Lagerfeld said, “No one wants to see curvy women. You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying that thin models are ugly.” Oh, Karl, you know you were once…oh never mind.
