A luxury boutique hotel, the Hotel on Rivington collaborates with international cutting-edge designers to celebrate creative energy and create a venue from which the world can experience all of downtown Manhattan

Editor’s Note: DC has teamed up with the Hotel on Rivington in New York yet again for a limited edition of the DC LIFE Admiral Sport. Produced exclusively for the hotel staff, this is the fourth time DC has laced the staff with shoes from the DC LIFE Collection. The previous three models have been the Sector 7, Dress Sneaker, and the OG Admiral.
The model has been customized with an upper featuring a combo of smooth black leather upper and black perforated leather. Laser etched across the white mid-sole of the Admiral Sport is “HOTEL ON RIVINGTON.” Now that I’ve got the politics out of the way… why are they only available for the hotel staff? I love those shoes… maybe ill be running down to 107 Rivington Street to snag me a job to get these exclusive sneakers!

Topshop launches cosmetics line!

World Wide Web – They’ve brought us the latest trends and styles straight from the catwalk that work right into our watered down budgeted wardrobes that designer created at affordable prices. And now they are giving us cosmetics. Our favorite British retailer, Topshop, will be selling their new permanent collection of nearly 100 different products in all their stores including a more “experimental” trend collection about 5 times a year. Even if we can’t afford that new outfit we can certainly still pick up a new eye shadow color to make us look fabulous instead! Products will range from $8-$20.

British designer Gareth Pugh was rumored over the weekend to be the frontrunner to take over designs at Alexandr McQueen.

World Wide Web – The internet was buzzing over the weekend with the rumors that 28-year-old British designer Gareth Pugh, a favorite in the industry, could possibly take over designs at Alexander McQueen. But before you get giddy with delight of that possibly happening or sulk up because it’s too soon to name a new designer for the label, his spokeswoman said in a statement:
“Further to speculative reports earlier this week, Gareth Pugh is not in discussions with Gucci Group about a Creative Director role at Alexander McQueen.”
Well, there you have it but do chime in Blaynistas. If this was fact than fiction, should Pugh be the frontrunner to take over designs at McQueen? After all Pugh has a close design aesthetic to the late desgner. [The Cut]

Lindsay Lohan was reportedly not involved in Ungaro’s Fall 2010 collection so could this mean that she is out of another job? But whether she is or not, we know she will land another gig in the weeks to come. And THAT, my Blaynistas, is the mystery of life.
Paris - It’s Monday and we’re feeling a bit snarky today. Okay! This morning the Emanuel Ungaro Fall 2010 collection made its debut in Paris Fashion Week and it was reported that Lindsay Lohan was not involved in the collection, according to Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah — who spoke to WWD backstage at the show. So does this mean there were no sparkly, heart-shaped pasties in the collection that just screamed with “haute-ness”? Give us a moment while we grab the kleenex box. As for designer Estrella ArchsGive, who worked with Lohan in the last collection and walked with the starlet on the runway after the show, this is considered her first collection and so she took a bow by herself. La Lohan, on the other hand, was at a party celebrating Turkey’s first Vogue issue last night, March 7. (Ms. Jessica Stam is featured on the cover.) And for more Lohan news ( you know love ‘em), the starlet was reportedly turned away at John Galliano’s Fall/Winter 2010 show for Christian Dior because she was tardy for the party. A source said the company was not pleased:
“You know, Dior did Lindsay a favor. She’s only in Paris to promote her own line, which isn’t putting a show on. Being photographed on the Dior front row could give her the attention that she needs, I don’t know what happened. She did not offer an excuse.”
Lohan, however, was granted entry to Galliano’s RTW show held at Halle Freyssinet on Sunday, March 7. She probably got the memo but the girl is such a repeat-offender so while she may have gotten the memo now you best believe she will be late for another show in the future. How can one be such a disastah in one lifetime? How?! Ay, another mystery in life, perhaps? [The Cut]

Ruffles, sequins and volume. Oh my! The Oscars, which aired on Sunday night, March 7, was like the Prom…on steroids.

Los Angeles - We get it. The American audience love to see tulle and plenty of glitter, and trust the 82nd Annual Academy Awards was filled with them. It was like attending your high school prom all over again…this time instead of the jocks on steroids, the gowns were on it. There were plenty of strappy gowns and ruffles and very few dares, but we congrats those who not only gave risks but exemplified g-l-a-m-o-u-r. Here are the Blay Report’s Best Oscar looks at this years Oscars:

French fashion house Balenciaga blacklisted French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld.

France – Oh no they didn’t! Apparently Balenciaga has banned the editor-in-chief and her other editors at French Vogue from attending any shows, including the one yesterday, March 4, in Paris. But that is not all. The fashion house also isn’t lending clothes and advertising in the magazine. Dang, sister, what did you do?! According to WWD, Carine Roitfeld said, “We’re blacklisted. It’s too bad, it’s a beautiful house and it’s French. I hope that it’s not forever.” Team Carine or Team Balenciaga? [The Cut]

A homeless man in China becomes an internet sensation because of his style.
World Wide Web – Yeah, we’re just going to let you absorb that for a bit. Got it now? The internet is buzzing about a homeless man in China (pictured left) calling him all sort of cute little names like “Beggar Prince”, the “Handsome Vagabond”, and “Brother Sharp”. One comment on the Tianyu site even read: ”Look at him wrinkle his brow… nothing needs to be said… sexy….”. There’s only one acronym appropriate for this and that is WTF? We’re not sure what think about this. Apparently, the man is 5ft 8in and around 35 years old. Other descriptions of him include always carrying a cigarette between his fingers and wears women’s clothes. [Independent UK]
